Hey what's up... I have owned two sets of Vestax tables, the straight arm A2's and the PDX2000's and with both I noticed a humming noise whenever pressure is put against the platter while it's spinning (either holding the record in place, or during cueing/scratching.) The noise hasn't been a major problem until I noticed it coming through my mixes and now it's very apparent in the headphones. It sounds sort of like a low rumbling or muffled grinding sound. Either way, it's not something that's pleasant. Is there a way to fix this? I have tried to contact Vestax before and they never responded. I have tried tightening the screws on the platter, the motor, and anything else that might be loose but still to no avail. If anyone else has this problem can you also speak about it?

noticed this to on my pdx 2000's noise is the vibration of the needle against the record and picking up the motor noise. i never really thought of it as a problem. but i guess if it coming thru your mixes then 1. check your mixer your bleedthru. do this by cueing a record up keep the volume sliders down but kinda jack the master volume up if your record can be heard and you do not have the channal fader up then get a new mixer. if this is not the case you may need to change your cueing up a bit (dont cue in a breakdown anyway where the noise can be heard.) i listened to lots of my mix tapes i can cannot detect any noise. check some things out. if you cannot get any help try vestaxde@aol.com
